Indonesia is one of the only countries that requires a fully saturated red background for the passport photo itself, a deliberate choice by the Direktorat Jenderal Imigrasi to make photos harder to forge. It is easy to assume that rule carries over to everything else, it does not. A foreigner's Indonesian visa photo (eVisa, visa-on-arrival, embassy application) uses a plain white or light background instead, the red requirement is specific to Indonesian citizens' passports and national ID documents (KTP, SIM). Check which document you are actually submitting for before picking a background.
Glasses have been banned in Indonesian passport photos since 2019, no exceptions for prescription lenses. Religious head coverings (hijab, kopiah) are allowed as long as your full face, from chin to hairline, stays visible, this is one of relatively few countries that explicitly permits both.
