Frequently Asked Questions

What size is a Singapore S Pass photo?

Singapore S Pass photos are 35×45 mm with a plain white background — the same ICA biometric format used for the Singapore passport, NRIC, and Employment Pass. For digital upload through the MOM portal the file is 400×514 pixels in JPG, JPEG, HEIC, HEIF, or PNG, under 8 MB.

I am a mid-skilled worker from India / Philippines / Bangladesh / Indonesia — does this tool work for my S Pass?

Yes. S Pass photo requirements are the same regardless of nationality. Foreign mid-skilled workers applying for or renewing an S Pass through their employer's MOM portal submit the standard 35×45 mm ICA photo. This tool exports a JPG sized for the portal upload and a print-ready PDF, processed entirely in your browser.

Who uploads the S Pass photo — me or my employer?

In Singapore the employer (or the employer's appointed employment agent) submits the S Pass application through MOM EP Online or WP Online. You provide the photo and personal documents to your employer / agent, who attaches the photo to the application. The photo specification is the same either way: 35×45 mm, plain white background, 400×514 px digital upload.

What is the difference between an S Pass and an Employment Pass?

Both are MOM-issued work passes with the same 35×45 mm photo spec. The S Pass is for mid-skilled foreign workers earning at least the S Pass minimum (revised periodically by MOM). The Employment Pass is for professionals, managers, and executives at a higher minimum salary threshold. The photo requirement does not change between them.

Can I wear a hijab, turban, or other religious head covering in the S Pass photo?

Yes. Religious head coverings are permitted as long as the face is fully visible from forehead to chin and both ears are not obscured in a way that hides identifying features.

Does MOM accept AI-edited or retouched photos for the S Pass?

No. The ICA biometric validation engine that backs MOM uploads rejects photos modified by image-editing software. IDPhotoSnap only crops the image and replaces the background with plain white - no skin smoothing, no relighting, no beautification - which keeps the photo within what ICA / MOM accepts.

How recent must the S Pass photo be?

Within the last 3 months. Singapore uses a stricter freshness window than the 6 months common elsewhere.

Is my photo uploaded to your servers?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Your photo never reaches a server — verifiable in the browser DevTools Network tab.
